L’Œnothèque showcases the many discoveries of La Mamounia’s sommeliers, housing over 2,000 rare vintages. The show is as much in the subtly-lit display cabinets, in which its many bottles lie side by side, as it is in this intimate and sublimely decorated room. A magnificent braided rope chandelier - an original piece of Berber craftsmanship - hangs from the overhead skylight allowing the light to flood in.
Discreetly tucked away beside Le Churchill bar, La Mamounia’s Cinéma is one of the many charming surprises to have emerged from the hotel’s 2020 metamorphosis. This twenty-seater velvet showcase, reserved exclusively for guests of La Grande Dame, is reminiscent in its refinement of the private screening rooms of Hollywood’s golden age, and celebrates the special relationship the hotel has always had with the seventh art. A wooden panel, masquerading as a sliding door, conceals a hidden treasure and an intimate space that is quite simply a cinema-goer’s dream. Welcome to La Mamounia’s enchanting Cinéma. Twenty roomy seats in deep blue velvet complete with plush cushions and dimmed lighting: the place seems all set for a private Hollywood screening.

To conjure up the gardens of La Mamounia is to journey to the very heart of its legend. The legend of La Mamounia began in its gardens in the 18th century, when Prince Al-Mamoun inherited a vast thirteen-hectare estate from his father. He turned it into a venue renowned for its «nzaha” - the magnificent open-air receptions of the great Moroccan tradition. Two centuries later, La Mamounia hotel was born, and went on to become a legendary palace, the only one in the world to bear a female name. A haven of peace, tranquillity and beauty, it was prized by the great and the good of high society, who found here the peace and intimacy to which they aspired.
Elegant and harmonious, the décor of the La Mamounia’s Riads is on a par with that of our most opulent suites, mirroring the vision of luxury that is synonymous with our historic hotel: a subtle combination of exquisite materials, traditional Moroccan craftsmanship and refined contemporary touches.
And to make the experience simply irresistible, each Riad has a dedicated buttler on duty 24 hours a day, as well as an interior kitchen in which meals and snacks can be prepared for guests.
